Stephen R. Coyte
Mr. Coyte began his career in the tobacco industry
in 1971 with Hail & Cotton, Inc. as a leaf trainee. Over the
following 15 years he held various positions in leaf buying, leaf sales
and administration before being named President in 1986. Mr. Coyte
joined the Intabex Group in 1990 as Chairman & CEO of their newly
acquired U.S. operation, Intabex-Hail & Cotton Intl. Co. In 1997 he
helped organize United Tobacco Company and has served as the CEO since
inception. In addition, he is a past President of the Leaf Tobacco
Exporters Association and served as a member of the Board of Governors
of the Tobacco Association of the United States. Mr. Coyte attended
Indiana University. Since the founding of United Tobacco Company, Mr.
Coyte has held the title of Chief Executive Officer.
James E. Brothers
After attending Eastern Kentucky University, Mr.
Brothers began his career in the tobacco industry in 1965 with Parker
Tobacco Company. Since that time, Mr. Brothers has developed expertise
in the purchasing and processing of leaf tobacco. He became Vice
President in charge of leaf purchases for Parker Tobacco Company in
1978. In 1981, he was named President of China American Tobacco Co. In
1992, after Intabex purchased China American Tobacco Co. and formed a
partnership with Dibrell Brothers in Greenville, N. C., Mr. Brothers
was named Executive Vice President, Chief of Operations of Eastern
Carolina Leaf Processors. Since the founding of United Tobacco Company,
Mr. Brothers has held the title of President.
Joseph C. Howe, Jr.
Mr. Howe began his career in Public Accounting
with Ernst & Young-- rising to the position of Tax Manager
specializing in international tax consulting. Mr. Howe joined the
Intabex Group in 1992 as the Chief Financial Officer of the U.S.
company. As CFO, Mr. Howe was responsible for finance, treasury,
accounting and administration during Intabex's strong growth period. He
holds a B.B.A. in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and an
M.B.A. in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Since the founding of United Tobacco Company in 1997, Mr. Howe has held
the title of Chief Financial Officer.
Hewitt E. Poland
Former Vice President and Manager of Far East
Sales with the Intabex Group, Mr. Poland has over 15 years experience
negotiating leaf tobacco sales in Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia,
the Philipines and Hong Kong. Mr. Poland specializes in sourcing
specific tobacco styles and grades to meet strict customer
specifications. He attended Barton College in Wilson, NC. Since the
founding of United Tobacco Company in 1997, Mr. Poland has held the
title of Executive Vice President.
